Social Styles: Amiable
1. What is your primary social style?
My primary social style is amiable meaning that I am loyal, dependable, and have a high level of concern for others. It also means that I put others before myself and want everyone to be happy.
2. What is your secondary social style?
My secondary social style is also amiable.
3. How accurate do you think this test was?
a) I feel that this test was very accurate because I think that my actions I live up to how the amiable social style is said to be. For example, when working on a project with a group of people I will generally let the other members use their ideas so that they will be happy with the decision of what we’re doing.
b) One thing that I don’t think is true about me is that I will spend my time doing work for others. An example of this is when I am working with a group, I will not pull somebody else’s weight for them is they are not doing their part because I don’t feel that I should have to do their work for them.
4. Given your social style, how do you like to be treated and interacted with?
I like to be treated with kindness and respect because I treat others with that. I also don’t like to be judged because as an amiable person that doesn’t generally judge or criticize others, I don’t feel I should be treated that way.
5. What could others do to relate or work with you more effectively?
Something that others could do to relate or work with me more effectively would be to take into consideration that I like to be listened to too and that I sometimes need others to return the favor of listening without judging.
