Che Guevara
For this project, we learned about Che Guevara and Fidel Castro and how they contributed to the Cuban Revolution. We got to choose between making a comic about Che Guevara and the commands that he may have said or cooked a Cuban recipe that he may have eaten or made. I made Cuban vanilla custard for my dish and it came out really well. I was able to make the recipe and bring the food in to class for everyone to eat. Through this project, I learned about how to use commands and I also learned about the Cuban revolution.

La Casa en Mango Street
This project allowed us to write a story about our lives and where we live using the past tense. We then recorded ourselves reading our stories that we had written to allow others to hear our stories. Based to the type of podcast file that I made, I am unable to upload my podcast.
Las Ramblas
For this project, we chose a famous person of Hispanic descent and wrote a biography about the person and then created a presentation. We then had to write a speech about their life in the first person to present at exhibition.
During this project I learned a lot about the different past tenses (preterite, imperfect, and perfect preterite) and how to use them in Spanish. I really enjoyed this project because I enjoy learning how to use different tenses in Spanish to broaden my knowledge and allow me to speak more fluently in Spanish. I also enjoyed learning more about Pablo Picasso and performing to others at the exhibition.

Cuento de tu Niñez
For this project we had to tell a story about our childhood using the preterite and the imperfect tenses. I think that it is cool that we can now write in the past tense in Spanish because so much has happened in our lives already. Using the preterite and the imperfect helped me write my story because it enabled me to write about the past.
Cuando tenía cinco años, aprendí montar mi bici. Hacía sol y mucho calor, era en el verano a mi casa en Durango, Co. Mi padre tocó las ruedas de aprendizaje de mi bicicleta y me puso en mi bicicleta. Empujé del suelo y caí muy rápido. Cuando caí, corté mi rodilla. Comenzé a llorar y no quería montar mi bicicleta. Me senté en el suelo hasta que me sentía buena. Entonces, me puse en pie y remonté la bicicleta. Mi padre agarró la silla y empujó la calle abajo. Pedaleé la calle abajo y tener exito montando mi bicicleta! Estuve muy feliz y había derrotado mi terror de montar en bicicleta.

Un Día en la Vida
For this project we had to create a story about someone and a day in their life. During this project, we learned about the role of reflexive verbs and how they are used.
Por Qué Statement:
Estudio español porque quiero viajar a argentina y chile, para hablar en otro países hispanohablantes, y por los restaurantes.
Learning Spanish is important to me because I plan to travel a lot when I am older, especially to Argentina and Chile. Because I hope to travel to other countries for mountain bike racing, being able to speak another language will also open up a lot of doors for me when traveling for races.
